Comments are welcome and an important part of the Buttered Veg vegetarian food and culture hub. Readers are encouraged to leave comments on the blog posts. When you leave a comment on this blog, you do so with the understanding and knowledge of the information on this page.
Questions will be answered in the comments at my discretion and to the best of my ability. If I am unable to answer every comment or respond, please do not take it personally. In other cases, I may answer inquiries personally via e-mail and may not publish the comment and/or response.
You must use a valid e-mail address when sending in a comment. E-mail addresses are hidden from the public view and will not be used for any other purpose, nor are they shared or published in any way. If your e-mail address isn’t valid, your comment will not be published.
If no comment field appears at the end of a published post and comments, that means that the post is closed for comments.
10 Very Important Points
1. Comments from first-time commenters are held for moderation.
Once approved, you will receive an email to notify you. You will also be able to comment without moderation for a rolling 60-day period. In order to reduce spam, you will be asked to type a 5-character security code each time you leave a message.
2. There will not always be a response to a comment.
I will always do my best to respond to every comment, but I may or may not be able to respond to all comments. I also apologize in advance if the reply is not always in a timely manner.
3. Comments and URLs which link to commercial websites or blogs in the body of your comment are subject to deletion.
The exception is if the link is part of the discussion, or If someone asks where they can find a certain item or product, and a comment if left with a link to where it can be obtained. Other examples include if you’ve attempted a similar recipe or you have a post on your website or blog that adds to the discussion.
4. DO leave your commercial website or blog URL in the “website” field.
Please DO NOT leave the name of your blog or business in the field where your name should be.
The software will automatically link your name to this URL. Leaving a URL is completely optional. URLs that don’t relate to comments will be removed, however.
5. Comments may be edited for grammar, spelling, or content.
When you leave a comment on this site, you do so with the understanding that it may get edited or deleted. Please realize that this is a private/personal blog, not a public space. Although I rarely delete comments, I reserve the right to do so and when you leave a comment, you do so with the knowledge that it may be edited, or deleted.
6. If you find a broken link or typographical error, you are welcome to point it out.
But please realize that due to the temporal nature of blogs, those are both bound to happen and if you wish to mention it, tact is appreciated.
7. A portion of the readers of this blog live outside the United States
Please keep that in mind and readers should be sensitive to cultural differences and values when leaving comments or responding to others.
8. Anything written in blocks of ALL CAPS will be deleted.
If you wish to include 1-2 words in all caps for emphasis, this is okay, but long blocks of all caps just isn’t good communication in a forum like this.
9. Comments may be deleted at any time, without notice.
10. Most importantly, diverse points of view are welcome but please be kind to others 🙂
As the publisher of Buttered Veg, I feel it is important to maintain a positive environment for all users. Anything I deem inappropriate will be removed.
Thank you for being a part of the Buttered Veg community. I value, and look forward our conversations.
